LeadingGreen Training and Consulting Inc. is a leading education and service provider in the sustainable design and construction industry. LeadingGreen is based out of Toronto, Canada and its employees have experience consulting on projects and training throughout the globe including in the United Kingdom, the Middle East and throughout North America. Core services include LEED® accreditation training, LEED® project management, commissioning, energy modelling and auditing as well as energy retrofits for existing buildings

LeadingGreen Training and Consulting has prepared over 10000 people for their LEED Green Associate and Accredited Professional exams, while still maintaining a 99% pass rate. LeadingGreen’s team has a combined experience on over 50 LEED-Registered and certified commercial, institutional and high-rise residential buildings throughout the globe. LeadingGreen offers a full scope of sustainable design and construction services to meet their client’s green building objectives, including energy analysis, renewable energy integration, life cycle costing, energy auditing and ongoing measurement and verification services. LeadingGreen’s solid aptitude and knowledge in the cost-effective and energy-efficient design ensure the client’s objectives are always met through a holistic project.

Meet our Instructors

Lorne Mlotek, BASc., LEED AP BD+C, O+M

Lorne is the President and Founder of LeadingGreen Training & Consulting, an organization whose mission is to help students and professionals circumvent the financial barriers of sustainable education. Over the past seven years Lorne has taught energy modeling, building science and over 200 LEED training courses Lorne has also partnered with over 200 post-secondary institutions and companies across North America to present about sustainable topics to their students. Lorne believes that increased education will lead to greater market demand for green buildings, the recognition of their financial merits and growth in green collar industries. He is also currently working on a recruiting company specializing in sustainable opportunities.

An expert in building science and integrated design, Lorne has working as a sustainability consultant with Smith and Anderson Footprint, as a developer with Provident Energy Management, a division of Tridel, and with Morrison Hershfield as a designer. Lorne was also the engineering consultant on over 25 sustainable projects pursuing LEED, Energystar and BOMA BESt certification.

Samantha Lane EIT, BASc, LEED AP BD+C O+M, CPHD

As a full-time sustainability consultant, Sam provides design and construction advice to project teams to meet specific energy and sustainability goals.  Sam enjoys lecturing as a way of sharing her passion for green building. Her industry experience and love of teaching combine to provide interesting and informative classes for everyone from beginners to seasoned building professionals.

Steven Goldstine P.Eng., LEED® AP BD+C

A professional engineer in land development and infrastructure, Steven focusses on providing clients with water and stormwater management solutions on a variety of projects from small-scale residential to large commercial developments. His passion for sustainable living extends beyond his career, demonstrated by his time serving on a number of ‘green’ committees and his dedication to learn energy modelling software for personal interest.

Steven has held his LEED Accreditation for over five years after being a student in the inaugural LeadingGreen, LEED Green Associate Training Course in 2012 and achieving his LEED AP, BD+C in 2017. This first-hand experience combined with professional training enables Steven to provide an informative, balanced and engaging class for all attendees.
